Change the location for saving photos and videos

In order to save memory on your BlackBerry device we recommend that you store all your images and videos on the memory card. To do this you will need a BlackBerry mobile phone with a camera and a MicroSD memory card from 256MB up to 16GB whatever you can find. For the purpose of this tutorial we have used the BlackBerry Storm but the settings apply to all devices with a built-in camera.
To set up the default location where images will be stored on your BlackBerry follow this steps:

1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select the Camera application.
3. Once the camera application has loaded, press the Menu key
4. Select Options.
5. At the bottom of the options menu, you can change whether pictures are stored on the media card or in device memory. You can also change which folder pictures are saved in.

To set up the default location where videos will be stored on your BlackBerry follow this steps:

1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select Media.
3. Select Videos.
4. From the Videos menu, select the Video Camera application, located at the top of the list.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Select Options.
7. At the bottom of the options menu, you can change which folder videos are stored in by default.

You can also access the video camera through the camera application:

1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Select the Camera application.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Select Video Camera.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Select Options.
7. At the bottom of the options menu, you can change which folder videos are stored in by default.

Note: Why you can not store applications on the memory card?

BlackBerry smartphone applications are stored in device memory and not on an SD card for the same reason that computer programs are generally installed on the hard drive, and not on removable media like CDs or USB keys. If applications are installed on removable media, the device cannot count on that application working at all times, resulting in a less reliable user experience.
