All you need to know about Bluetooth on your BlackBerry!

Bluetooth is a very useful thing and might come very handy in many situations. How to turn the Bluetooth ON/OFF on your BlackBerry smartphone?

1. Go to Manage Connections and from the menu select Bluetooth and turn it on/off
2. If you want to have easy access to the Bluetooth settings go to Options then select Screen/Keyboard from where you can assign the Left or Right convenience key to Set up Bluetooth

Please remember to turn Bluetooth Off when you are not using it, to save battery on your BlackBerry smartphone. If you constantly have your Bluetooth On and there is no apparent reason for this, like using a Bluetooth headset, your battery life will be shorter.


All about Bluetooth pairing on your BlackBerry smartphone

Since there are many Bluetooth enabled devices that you can use with your BlackBerry smartphone, at some point you will need to pair your BlackBerry device with such a device. If you have never used a Bluetooth headset before or another Bluetooth enabled device like a stereo headset, wireless car kit or other, you will have to establish a trusted connection between your BlackBerry and for example the wireless headset (pair your headset with your BlackBerry).

How to pair your BlackBerry with another Bluetooth enabled device?

1. Open Manage Connections and turn your Bluetooth On
2. Go to Set up Bluetooth
3. A "Search for a device or Listen to a device" to find me message will appear
4. Click Search and if necessary select the device you want to pair (if the search returns more then one device)
5. Optional: Some devices require pass key to be entered in order to pair with your BlackBerry smartphone. If you are asked for one, enter it.

How to connect your BlackBerry to a Bluetooth device?

1. Turn your Bluetooth On
2. Go to Options and select Bluetooth
3. Click a Bluetooth enabled device and click Connect

How to share contact using Bluetooth on your BlackBerry?

1. Go to Options and select Bluetooth
2. Press the Menu key and select Options
3. In the options presented find the Contacts Transfer and change it to All Entries
4. Press the Menu key and click Save

If you want to prevent your BlackBerry to share contacts via Bluetooth instead of All Entries, select Disabled.

If you want to make your BlackBerry phone visible to other Bluetooth enabled devices and smartphones around you do the following:

1. Go to Options and select Bluetooth
2. Press the Menu key and select Options
3. Change the Discoverable option to Yes/No
