BlackPad - The BlackBerry Tablet Shipping in September for $499

According to Chinese news website Apply Daily, Quanta Computer will be the manufacturer behind RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Tablet, so far called the BlackPad. Quanta specializes in computer and peripheral equipment. Earlier reports said the tablet would be launching in November but according to Apply Daily, they’ll start shipping in September:

Fingerprint Reader In BlackBerry OS 6?

There are some strange icons that have been extracted from BlackBerry OS 6 UI on a unknown OS 6 device that were leaked on file sharing sites. Among the files, mostly PNG images and icons from the user interface, there is one net_rim_theme_precision_2_360x400_b.cod.275.PNG that grabs the attention. Could this be it, a fingerprint reader on a BlackBerry OS 6 device. Well it seems like it, with the fingerprint icons which remind me of my ThinkPad somehow included in the UI it would be no surprise to see a BlackBerry smartphone with a built in fingerprint reader / scanner, this would be a big improvement in the security and an amazing marketing base.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 On August 10th!

The previously leaked BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 has been announced for release on August 10th. Since the first smartphone running BlackBerry OS 6, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be in AT&T stores on August 15th, this is a good timing for the release of the new version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. So, in less then 7 days we will be seeing the new BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6, and if we judge from the feedback from the people who downloaded the leaked version, it will be great.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Available Only For AT&T Customers On August 12 For $199.99

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone will be available only for AT&T customers on August 12 in AT&T company owned retail stores and online at www.att.com/blackberrytorch, as well as Best Buy, Wal-Mart and RadioShack stores.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be available for $199.99 with 2-year service agreement on a qualifying rate plan and smartphone data plan required. New smartphone customers may choose from two AT&T monthly data plan options, $15 for 200 MB of wireless data or $25 for 2 GB. Enterprise and small business customers should contact their account representative for pricing details.

BlackBerry To Release The BlackPad Tablet In November

The previously announced BlackBerry tablet, now seems more likely to be released very soon, in fact just a few months from now, in November. There is nothing concrete about these rummors, but it seems very likely that BlackBerry will be releasing their tabled code named "BlackPad" very soon.
